Artist's Comments

I walked past him, without even looking.

A few steps later, I found that my feet had stopped and my head had turned, for his music was by far too beautiful to ignore & play ignorant to. I stopped, I watched & I admired. I dropped change & uttered "Tres bien, c'est magnifique." And as I walked away, towards the cathedral - he continued to play. He played & he played, because it's what he loved to do. His music continued to run into the cathedral & my ears... I felt at peace.

So as I turn away from him, one final time, knowing I would never see him or hear those same sounds again - I wished he had CDs for sale... but he didn't, and that's what made it so beautiful...

You can see the joy wreathed across his face. He is in a world of his own digesting the sweet sounds that his instrument brings. What a wonderful capture you have done here. The very face of of a man at peace with himself. So happy he brought brief joy to you and a memory which will always be engraved upon your heart  :rose:

That's a lovely moment to have captured. Definatly deeply filled with emotion.
For some reason, the first thing that strikes me with this is how everything is in clear focus apart from the stick (Don't know the techincal term, sorry!) he's useing to play the instrument with. The way that he isn't even looking at it gives a clue as to have good he is at playing. It's like he's drifted into his own thoughts, absorbing every note he plays into his very soul. He doesn't need to see it to feel it. Like i never saw him playing, but from the image i can see and the description you've given, it's like i can still appreciate it. :aww:
I love the colours as well. They're so warm and inviting, and the make the image so peaceful and atmospheric. The description with it is is very fitting as well, and definatly contributes to the overall mood to the photo.

Oh, my! This is just breathtaking. And I mean the photo AND the story. It wouldn't be the same portrait without it. This man lost in his own world of music and memories, adding a precious moment of insight to every passerby by touching something within them. :wow: To make them turn around and notice. :aww: Excellent one, Sean. :smooch:

Wow. Æææ.. I don't even have words for this one. This is absolutely my favorite out of everything you have done. It doesn't get better than this. Nothing gets better than street musicians. This picture has so much to it. Beautiful..

Give me one more medicated peaceful moment

His facial expression is very moving. Maybe he's trying to tell us something in his music. I wish I was there. Where was he?

To me the picture looks slightly too strong in red, though. Can you play around with the colour levels?

Beautiful story and portrait, well done Sean. He looks like a very wise man. Filled with more appreciation than those who have millions.

I was really amazed he didn't look at me while taking the photo, but I love that he didn't now. Thanks for your comment on the colours being warm, what I was aiming for :) A big  and general thanks for another just lovely comment from you. I really, really appreciate it.
